Women in marketing

Women are not just part of the marketing industry; we are leading, guiding, and redefining what it truly means to be innovative creators.

Welcome to a space where all about women in marketing.

Grab your drinks, phone or laptop while you read this short blog that will dive into what marketing is, what has changed, new directions, and what the next moves in marketing are. Are you ready?

What is marketing?

There is so much to marketing besides the hashtags and the ads. It's the mixture of companies building brands with people and providing a solution, as well as making an impact.

There are so many women in marketing, and it is still increasing throughout the years; roughly around 60% of women are in marketing.

Content creation is one of the top forms of marketing that has been thriving in recent years, creating a community.

The good thing about marketing is that it is so broad, there are many brands, types of companies, fashion, beauty, sports, and there is room for everyone in all these great industries!

Let’s talk history

Back in the day, marketing was basically run by men, but thanks to some amazing women and their contributions, which have helped open doors to more leadership roles. This also helped raise power for women in marketing.

Marketing was just one-way communication, which is brand to the consumer. Also,  thanks to technology, there are many ways to communicate with consumers, such as AI-powered chat boxes, video content, and influencer marketing.

Now in marketing, the main focuses are building a community, staying true to ourselves and focusing on engagement (what do people love to see more of).

Challenges that we face

Keeping up with all the trends.

There are so many memes and posts that go viral that sometimes marketers don’t even have time to come up with a funny meme before the trend is over!

Staying authentic when selling a product or service

Understanding the difference between being authentic and selling a product. On social media platforms, we see so many people telling us, “Buy this product!” In cases like this, it makes it harder for buyers to trust consumers. This affects both the marketer and the company.

Representation and inclusivity

There are so many different audiences with many different backgrounds, and we have to find ways to help all these people.

There aren't many people that could help in making future customers feel connected. This is why there is a need for more marketers from different backgrounds to help us connect to your demographics. This will not only help grow, but we will be sure to build even bigger communities to help one another and to create an inclusive environment for women in marketing.

Competitive market

There are so many people that want to get into marketing; we see so many posts on all types of platforms. The issue behind this is that it is definitely a lot harder to stand out from others. Especially when many others are posting the same content.

There is always room for improvement

These challenges that are noticed help find some ways to help improve in the long run.

We can always ask ourselves, “What difference can I make?”  “What will help me stand out?”

Notice that there are some challenges we can ask ourselves, “What can we do better?” That’s the best part about marketing is understanding and being able to get ahead of the game.

Having these challenges will also contribute to how women in marketing continue to shape the industry and build opportunities for the new generations.

How are women changing the market

Being in the marketing field, women bring so many cool ideas from different points of view that can help with creating a world full of creativity and change within the field.

Their understanding helps build campaigns that are more special and emotionally connected, which also include different audiences.

By knowing unique voices and experiences, women are able to give brands a lead to connect better with their audiences. These different ways of communication help companies become more trustworthy, cooperative and successful in this mixed market we have today.

This is the reason why you should stick to marketing. So come on and join us in this beautiful adventure.

Tips and Tricks! To up your marketing game!

Ask yourself: Who am I talking to? Who’s my audience?

Focus on being yourself: People love it when you are true to yourself and show a bit of your personality!

Always learn: in every journey, we always have to learn through trial and error. This is what makes us pro marketers

Don’t be afraid to test out different things: we want to see what people like and find engaging

Final Thoughts

With all these new changes to making, like all the trends, tech and data, this all connects to the people. Marketers (yes, everyone reading this is a marketer) give a human touch to everything when putting it out in the world. Marketers bring a story, reliable and joyful.

Every brand has a foundation of uniqueness with what they want to say, and you are the one to put it out there for the people.

Women in marketing are consistently growing, which is something that we love to see!
