Girl Power with Full Force : Taking Over the Industries, One Move at a Time
Feb 06, 2026
For generations now, women have been stereotyped and undermined in many fields due to one simple factor: their gender.
However, over the course of the last hundred years, we’ve seen changes and unity like never before. Like Rosa Parks, who stood her ground and inspired change, women have refused the “expectations” that are placed on them.
Women are no longer seen as weak or inferior; in fact, they have broken barriers, challenged limitations, and become the blueprint for progress in ways once thought impossible.
In recent years, the rise of social media has created a unique niche in finding products, fashion, and inspiration almost instantaneously. The use of social media has enabled female-owned brands to create and inspire women to discover products that are best suited for them.
Similarly, it has allowed creators to influence their followers to indulge in a lifestyle that they are demonstrating. The use of “Girl Power” is very prevalent here, especially when it comes to marketing a product or service.
Over the past couple of years, it has been very common and iconic to find brands of various industries collaborating with micro and macro influencers to spread awareness of their brand or upcoming products.

Girl Power : Social Media Collaborations
With the rise of influencers in the world of marketing, women have developed the best strategy to attract the coming generations of women.
Post COVID season, left almost everyone codependent on their phones, specially to platforms like Instagram and TikTok. It is almost habitual to find yourself reopening these applications after a few seconds of closing them. This has allowed brands of all sizes to woo girlies of all ages to indulge with a product that may be best suited for them, or even entice them to try a product that they may not even need.
Last summer, Huda Beauty came out with a campaign that has everyone locked in with their new and upcoming product, “Easy Bake Duo Loose Powder”. Their collaboration with Season 7’s Love Island star, Huda Mustafa, had people ready and excited for the new drop.
It was marked as one of the most anticipated partnerships of the summer between both the Hudas, with over 10.7 million views in their teaser advertisement. Unfortunately, due to unwarranted behavior from the Love Island star, the collaboration didn’t last as long as the hype did, but the initial anticipation of this drop had everyone on TikTok and Instagram ready and on their toes.
Similarly, Huda Kattan’s sister, Mona Kattan, had a perfume collaboration with Leah Kateb in January of 2025 for her brand Kayali.
With the hype and buzz around Season 6 of Love Island and Leah trendsetting the atmosphere, Mona delved into the perfect opportunity for a brilliant collaboration. Everyone was tuned into this new BFF scent and was ready for the drop to cop the next “BFF” scent. It became an overnight sensation, and nearly everyone wanted a taste of this new, delicious scent!

Girl Power : Women in Male Fields
On January 20th 2026, Mikie Sherrill set the tone for women pursuing politics in the near future. She became the first Democratic Veteran woman to hold the governorship in the state of New Jersey, breaking ground on different levels of stereotypes.
Having a background as a Navy helicopter pilot with a focus on reproductive rights and breaking the typical gender barriers in the office, she stands as a true example of what it means to thrive in spaces traditionally dominated by men.
During her time campaigning, Sherrill branded herself with her true identity as a mother of four willing to bridge the gap between traditional gender roles and modern relationships, reassuring women of a path to a more equal opportunity. By embracing both her personal and professional identity, she demonstrated her true girl power and was able to succeed and, alongside, inspire a surge of female veterans to run in the office as well.
For over 30 years, the State of New Jersey had been controlled by Republicans in the Congressional District. In 2018, Sherrill ran for the U.S. House of Representatives for New Jersey in the 11th Congressional District. Despite the propaganda of women being doubted in this role, Sherrill not only broke the stereotype but also flipped the seat, making history.
Her victory not only proved that women belong in leadership roles but also that they succeed even when underestimated. Governor Sherrill is one of many government officials, breaking the stereotypical grounds and working in male-dominated fields, inspiring women to pursue their dreams in all career fields.
Girl Power : Who Run The World?
From Pop Culture to the Beauty Industry to the world of Finance, women are charismatically setting the bar higher and higher by the day.
There isn’t an industry where we aren’t making groundbreaking changes and turning the world ours. Women are not just setting up boardrooms, creative studios, laboratories, and start-up spaces; they are transforming them, redefining success according to their own standards, and reshaping the world to one that legitimately reflects their powers and gifts.
While there may still be some differences in some categories, such as the gap between female and male billionaires, this narrative is changing dramatically more than ever before. The number of self-made billionaire ladies over the past decade has increased at a remarkable rate.
Typically, these women are far younger than the male competition in the same category, having built empires through innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, and personal branding rather than an inheritance!
This transformation represents a symbol of empowerment rather than simple monetary success. It challenges society with outdated norms, dismantling obstacles, and reshaping the picture of ambition for the coming generations. For young women and aspiring entrepreneurs, these icons have paved a path for goals that are no longer reserved for men only, but are attainable for anyone who has the ambition to be.

Girl Power : Women Empowering Women
Millions of women, especially those from marginalized groups, continue to encounter obstacles in economic, social, and political engagement despite the advancements in gender equality.
Eliminating this disparity calls for global collaboration that goes beyond raising awareness. It is important to emphasize and institutionalize this subject on a larger scale by educating all generations on women’s rights. It is still very common to find women undermined in working conditions, growth opportunities, and in areas of education as well.
It is upsetting to state that, “UNESCO reports that 122 million girls are out of school worldwide, while women account for nearly two-thirds of the global illiterate adult population.”
Graciously, communities have brought together NGOs to help mitigate these differences. Girl Power USA is one of these safe havens, founded on hope and goals to improve the lives of women in underprivileged Asian and African communities.
Their sister organization, Girl Power Talk, offers leadership guidance and opportunities for employment to these same women in underdeveloped economies. The sole mission of Girl Power USA is to promote awareness while connecting with the public to aid these women and offer them resources that they never thought they could have.
Through their efforts, they have educated women about their equal rights, increased opportunities for women throughout Africa and Asia, and achieved progress in the areas of clean and affordable energy and water. They have taken their vision from 150 leaders' Sustainable Development Goals and are on course to achieve them by 2030!
