Movie releases have always been important to the success of movies but even more so now. There has been a slight rift between the culture of ‘seeing a movie in theaters’ versus waiting for a movie to release on ‘streaming services’.

However, the engagement with movies and  different types of social media platforms is what helps get people into theaters today!

That’s where it starts, your awareness of the movie's existence; then your algorithm will start to shift towards that specific film, or the actors in that movie, and the other works they have been in.

TikTok is a social media platform that has gained popularity somewhere between  2018 and 2019. During 2020 however, TikTok's usage skyrocketed, and every brand, actress, actor, or upcoming film you can think of started to use the platform to reach all types of audiences.

It seems that TikTok has now become part of the marketing campaign to give a movie release an advantage. Something to get people excited for!

The Truth about how 'The Drama' has been marketing their Movie

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are people's faves, and a lot of people are tuned in for what they have to offer this film season. They are starring together in 3 upcoming movies: The Odyssey, Dune: Part 3, and The Drama. 

 

The Drama however is what they are here for! This film of theirs is at the top of the list of upcoming releases. On April 3rd, 2026, the fans are in for a ride of their lives as they truly come to understand their characters, Charlie and Emma.

Charlie and Emma are happily engaged and are about to be put to the test the week of their wedding. 

The way that A24 has marketed The Drama is unlike what people have seen before and that continues to unfold on social media. On December 9th, fans were formally introduced to characters Charlie and Emma, as if they were real people. 

A24 created this world surrounding them, and the audience was able to participate in this wedding; the wedding being the movie release. On their (A24) Instagram, they posted a photo from the Boston Globe announcing the engagement of Robert Pattinson and Zendaya's fictional characters. 

There have also been emails sent out to people to confirm their attendance to the showings, while inviting a plus one! The seating arrangements for the movie presale, was set up with two sides; the blue being the grooms (on the left of the theater) and pink for the bride (on the right of the theater).

This marketing continues to bring the fun to movies.

With that kind of movie marketing on social media, the people are already locked in and ready for the wild ride.
